This not-for-profit healthcare provider offers evidence-based services across Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. Located 9km north of Rockhampton, Binbi Yadubay (meaning Healthy Beginnings) is a residential program offering withdrawal (8 beds) and rehabilitation (32 beds) services. They also have a family recovery program (2 units) where parents can come with their children, aged 10 and under, to participate in the residential treatment program.
Position Description:
In this role, as the Withdrawal and Nursing Team Leader (Clinical Nurse Consultant) you will oversee the clinical and operational management of the withdrawal unit. You will lead the continuous development and implementation of a comprehensive withdrawal treatment and recovery program. This encompasses all facets of program delivery and clinical governance, including assessment, intake, admission, treatment, medication management, review, and discharge.
Your Opportunity:
The organisation is seeking an experienced nursing practitioner who is people-focused and enjoys being clinically ‘hands-on’ to join them as the Team Leader for the withdrawal unit. Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 15 Registered Nurses and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses. This is a diverse role where you will balance administrative and clinical tasks, while also supervising, coaching, and developing nursing staff. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Team Leader responsible for the adjacent residential and family units. Some of your daily responsibilities will include:
- Use a data driven, client outcomes focused approach to provide day to day clinical oversight of withdrawal management and client wellbeing.
- Facilitate and monitor the integration and coordination of residents’ treatment and recovery processes.
- Actively participate in the clinical review of individual/group treatment plans in collaboration with the relevant teams and external service providers.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff including setting priorities, monitoring work outcomes and ensuring work is performed in alignment with organisational goals and processes.
- Support the clinical development of the team.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff including setting priorities, development, and appraisal of staff.
- Promote the program, communicate regularly with, and build and maintain collaborative working relationships with the programs’ partners and all relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee staff rostering including creating the roster on Kronos, filling vacant shifts and roster changes.
About You:
You will be flexible and adaptable to work within the shifting needs of the service and have a positive 'can do' attitude. You will possess the following skills and experience:
- Registered Nurse with a minimum bachelor level qualification in nursing
- Extensive experience working in a withdrawal, AODS, residential rehabilitation or related service delivery setting.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a multidisciplinary team providing services to clients with complex needs including experience in intake, assessment, withdrawal management, educated assisted therapy, case review and referral.
- Thorough understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements that underpin the treatment and clinical management of substance misuse problems.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing staff to achieve high performance and strong engagement.
- Highly developed consultation, communication and interpersonal skills, to engage effectively with diverse clients, staff and stakeholders.

Salary Information:
The gross annual salary ranges between $106,379 to $111,094 per annum plus super and the option to salary package. The salary on offer will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s skills, knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance is also available.
