Dental Assistant Wanted

Parkwood Dental is seeking an enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our practice in Parkwood!

We currently require someone with a minimum of 6 months experience OR someone who has done a Cert III or Cert IV in Dental Assisting that is interested in this role as a career and not just another job.

We require someone who is willing to learn and grow their skills constantly.

We are also willing to consider someone that has no experience but has done a Certificate 3 or 4 in Dental Assisting and is willing to learn quickly and be enthusiastic about the job.

About Us:

We are a small 2-chair practice located in Parkwood across from the Arundel State School and about 5-10mins from the motorway.

We currently have 5 female dentists and 1 male Oral Surgeon that works at our practice. We use the dental software called D4W.

We currently perform the following procedures:

- General Dentistry (such as Check Ups, Cleans, Fillings, Extractions)

- Root Canal Treatment

- Veneers

- Whitening

- Surgical Extractions (with our Oral Surgeon)

- Crown & Bridge

- Dentures

We like to provide our patients with quality dental care at an affordable price. This includes making our patients feel comfortable and happy with our services and create a friendly environment with the Dentists & Assistants that help them.

About the Position:

This position would ideally involve all aspects of Dental Assisting (Chair-side assisting, checking stock, Infection control, sterilisation of instruments, working with our equipment).

Front reception duties is also ideal but will only be required after you are competent with dental assisting.

We can currently offer a casual position for 3-4 days a week but this can be more depending on the week and what hours we are needing to fill.

Our Business hours are usually 9-4:30pm Monday-Friday + 8:30am-12:30pm on a Saturday and the assistant is usually required to be here 15-30mins before and after our patients are booked due to the setting up and cleaning up at the start and end of day.

Ideal Candidate must have:

- Minimum of 6 months Dental Assisting experience or previous experience in the dental industry

- An ability to know the importance of infection control

- Have reliable Transport to get you to and from work

- Organisation, time management skills and someone that knows how to be proactive with their time

- Ability to work in a team as well as independently

- Ability to follow directions and instructions from others

- Excellent communication skills

- Must be Honest and Reliable

- Friendly and positive attitude to add to our already friendly team

- Can present themselves in a professional manner

- Ability to learn and be willing to do the job to your best ability

- Ability to multitask and use initiative

- Motivated and Passionate about providing the patients with the best care we can offer

- Previous reception experience is desirable
