Job title: Senior Occupational Therapist - Community-Based - NDIS
Working Hours: Full Time, 38hrs/week
Salary: $100K to $120K per annum + super
Location: Darwin
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapist ensures the provision of a high quality, culturally appropriate and effective Occupational Therapy services to NDIS participants and providing appropriate consultation to referred stakeholders.
- Delivery of generalist and specialist services through timely, culturally appropriate Occupational Therapy interventions to facilitate optimal health outcomes.
- Facilitate effective service delivery through utilising appropriate information systems, and the maintenance of relevant statistics.
- Continued professional development of self and others, including undergraduate students, using research and evidence-based concepts.
- Working as a member of small team with minimal supervision from the Team Leader, the position contributes to the planning development and implementation of services with an emphasis on customer focused continuous quality improvement.
- Liaise with other community and health service providers in the region.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent which confers eligibility to the Australian Occupational Therapy Association and registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency)
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience
- NDIS Work Experience
- Proven ability to assess and implement clinical interventions in both generalist and specialist disability caseload, in accordance with Occupational Therapy practice standards and Code of Ethics
- Experience in use of personal computer programs and databases.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication, time management, and organisational skills to ensure effective teamwork.
- Demonstrated awareness of multicultural issues and their impact on clinical practice and an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
- Demonstrated ability to implement Continuous Quality Improvement strategies and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity Standards.
- A current NT driver’s licence or the ability to obtain.
- Post graduate qualification in the field of Occupational Therapy practise relevant to paediatric Occ. Therapy (desirable)
- Experience in the report writing (desirable)
- Willingness to travel to remote communities (desirable)
- Extensive report writing experience (desirable)
