Psychologist / Social Worker / Counsellor

Wonderbump is a perinatal psychology and counselling service for expectant and new parents in Canberra and surrounding regions. The practice was established in 2021 by Georgina Farrell, Registered Psychologist. Wonderbump is currently a small practice looking to expand due to increased demand for perinatal services.

Wonderbump is seeking a qualified psychologist / social worker / counsellor with experience or interest in working in the perinatal field. Specific training in perinatal and infant mental health is desirable however clinicians with experience working therapeutically with clients will be considered.

The requirement is initially one day per week (Fridays). Full use of the counselling room is provided on this day. Additional telehealth sessions can be conducted by the clinician if desired.

Wonderbump has a strong referral base and the appointed clinician can indicate their preference to receive specific types of referrals.

Clients may be referred for support with :

• Preconception concerns, including assisted fertility
• Pregnancy difficulties
• Perinatal loss and grief
• Antenatal depression and anxiety
• Birth trauma
• Postnatal depression and anxiety
• Parent-infant attachment issues
• Adjustment to parenthood difficulties
• History of complex or developmental trauma
• Parenting support including the Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) Program
• Relationship support

Administration support will be provided however the clinician will be responsible for correspondence with the referring agent and managing their clients once they have engaged with them. Supervision can be provided if needed.
