Exercise Physiologist

Locations: We are looking for another keen Exercise Physiologist to join our team in the northern regions including Mawson Lakes, Gawler, Wingfield.

NP Exercise Physiology is an exciting and growing allied health group with both Exercise Physiologists and Occupational Therapists involved with largely musculoskeletal and workplace injury clients. If you love MSK rehab you are in the right place.

The opportunity within our group is for a experienced or new graduates with an interest to be trained in musculoskeletal and post-operative rehabilitation techniques. Prior knowledge of musculoskeletal rehabilitation is not a requirement however basic exercise testing and prescription is a requirement.

Employment and hours

• Casual and permanent positions available - We prefer to hire permanent EPs at FT or PPT rather than casual.
• This role will grow into a full time role for suitable candidates.
• Pay rate and hours will be discussed if you are offered the role.
• Work hours are generally 8-4 or 9-5.

The workload

• Clinical Exercise Physiology work treating clients through testing and prescription
• We work at multiple locations across Adelaide. Our main gym locations are Marleston, Mawson Lakes, Campbelltown, Gawler and surrounding areas. We also work from medical centres in Ingle Farm, Salisbury, Klemzig. This role however will be in the Northern regions including Mawson Lakes, Gawler and Wingfield.
• Largely musculoskeletal population including workplace injury and motor vehicle accidents.
• NDIS population of varying disabilities will also be a smaller part of some case lists.
• A smaller percentage of our clients are in other areas of work such as chronic disease management through care plans and DVA work.
• We are looking at starting pre-employment medical assessments which you will likely take part in. This will include training if this goes ahead.

Requirements

• Applicants must have a valid drivers license and a car
• Knowledge of basic contraindications to exercise such as hypertension cut offs and blood sugar cut offs.
• Knowledge of basic exercise testing and prescription with more detailed testing and prescription to be part of the “on the job” training.
• Motivated to learn and continue to improve. Professional development is very important in our line of work.
