About Us:

SA Homecare Therapies is one of SA's fastest-growing teams of mobile physiotherapists, occupational therapists, podiatrists, and dietitians.

Working predominantly with the older population and Home Care Package Coordinators across Metropolitan and Adelaide Hills regions, our goal is to help people stay happy and healthy at home.....whether it's a house, apartment, retirement village, or residential aged care facility.

About the role:

Reporting to the General Manager, the key role of the Team Leader is to provide professional leadership, direct management and clinical support to the Occupational Therapy team members whilst applying professional expertise to maximize positive outcomes for our people and clients.

You will work closely with home care providers to make the most out of a person's current living situation, whilst assisting them to regain function and independence.

Your responsibilities will include:

Mentoring and frontline team management of Occupational Therapy team members:

  • Support the General Manager with new occupational therapy inductions and on the job training.
  • Outline key business processes for team members and provide clarity of expectations
  • Conduct monthly check in, probation and annual reviews for team members
  • Provide new team members with 1:1 shadowing/practical training opportunities during their initial training week(s) and as clinically indicated.
  • Monthly reporting of team updates
  • Organise and conduct discipline-specific team meetings (face-to-face or virtual).
  • Contribute to, and deliver training and in-service programs to the SAHCT clinical team.
  • Coordinate projects specific to the occupational therapy team or requiring occupational therapy input.
  • Provide therapy-specific advice and support to the General Manager as requested.

Providing services to community clients, including but not limited to:

  • Undertake independent home safety assessments or individual assessments to meet specific referral criteria.
  • Recommend and assess for suitable aids, adaptive equipment, and home modifications (where required) to help patients stay happy and healthy at home.

About You:

If you are a passionate, professional, and caring OT with an interest in leadership, we would love to hear from you!

You will have the desire to take on responsibility, show initiative and possess exceptional communication skills. Experience mentoring, training and managing staff is preferred but not essential.

You will also need:

  • A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or Master of Occupational Therapy.
  • Full registration with AHPRA.
  • Experience in completing home safety assessments within the community inclusive of home modifications, equipment prescription, falls prevention, and education.
  • Knowledge of manual handling practices.
  • An Australian driver's license and a reliable, registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance.

What we offer our team:

With our team choosing the hours and days, we aim to provide flexibility. Whether they want to study, work around school hours, work after hours, business hours, or anything in between we will accommodate their requirements.

This is perfect for individuals looking for a better work/life balance, or those keen for variety and the ability to work “outside of the same four walls”!

We asked some of our wonderful OTs about the benefits of working for SAHCT.

The most common answers included:

  • Being able to pick and choose your own hours (we strongly believe in maintaining work/life balance)
  • Fleet Vehicle (including personal use)
  • Rewarding, client-centered, goal-focused work
  • A consistent workload
  • Excellent pay, based on experience
  • Working close to home
  • The career development and growth opportunities

  • The friendly head office staff, who help with your schedule and reduce administration
  • Our social functions! We love getting the team together whenever we can!
