Description

Harbour Therapy Services is looking for a new graduate or experienced Speech Pathologist to complement their growing team of allied health professionals in Ulladulla, on the beautiful south coast of NSW.

Harbour Therapy is a family centred allied health service providing individual and group therapy, feeding and social skill programs in the heart of Ulladulla. We offer a unique, interest based therapy service to children, adults and families in a clinic setting, the home and school environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a new graduate or experienced Speech Pathologist you will be responsible for the provision of client and family centred Speech Pathology services for children and families. 
  • You will be working with families using a bottom up, holistic and collaborative approach.
  • You will co-design the support provided to children and their families which offers them choice and control in the way therapy and support is delivered.
  • Conduct assessments and deliver speech therapy to children and their families.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans for a variety of children and developmental issues
  • Assessment and NDIS report writing
  • Enjoy liaising with parents, teachers and relevant stakeholders to achieve client goals
  • You will be working in home, preschool and school environments
  • Collaborate with other health professionals
  • Documentation and note taking 
  • Implementing group program
  • Enjoy regular team building and social events 

About You:

  • A tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology, membership with Speech Pathology Australia and Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist status
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check
  • Current, unrestricted drivers license
  • Experience in assessment, diagnosis, therapy, case management and discharge planning of children (0 – 18 years) with developmental disorders.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with schools and parents using a family centred and strengths-based approach to practice.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and proficient computer skills.

Desired:

  • Experience working with families of children with disabilities and knowledge of the NDIS principles and pathway
  • Experience working with children/adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ODD, ADHD.
  • Knowledge of early life trauma and/or experience working from a trauma-informed approach or interest in this area
  • Proven ability to work both collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary team with a family-centred and strengths-based approach
  • Experience in delivering speech pathology services via telehealth and face to face.
