ABOUT US… 

Speech Bubble Speech Pathology is a growing practice looking for a full-time speech pathologist to join the team. We are looking for new graduates and Speech Pathologists with up to 5 years-experience.  Speech Bubble is a client-focused private practice located in Edithvale (Bayside - just 100m from the best beaches in bayside & across from Edithvale train station) with designated parking onsite. The dedicated speech pathology clinic rooms are well resourced to deliver quality therapy to our clients and their families.  

We offer a supportive environment that will foster the clinicians’ clinical interests and career goals under the supervision of Catherine Moloney (Speech & Language Pathologist MSLP, B.Mus (Voc), B.Arts (Psych, Soc). Catherine brings 20 years of experience to support the development of early career Speech Pathologists and experience as a clinical supervisor guiding students through their university clinical placements. We offer a Graduate Program to support you in your early career development.

• Weekly Clinical supervision and access to supervisor throughout your day, from Principal Speech Pathologist with over 20-years-experience to share and mentor you. 
• Opportunity for early career pathologists with 3-5 years-experience to provide supervision to new graduate pathologists and develop your skills. 
• Client Free After Three Fridays – Friday afternoons you have the time to consolidate your week (follow up / notes /planning / professional development monthly) to ensure client service delivery is met and you can end your week relaxed and organized. 
• Scheduled note and planning time for all clients for every appointment every day. 
• Dedicated Client Care Admin to take care of all client bookings, invoicing and general communications with clients (so you can focus on being a Speech Pathologist). 
• Administration and clinical supports.  
• Opportunity to develop new initiatives and programs based on clinical interests.

Requirements

ABOUT THE POSITION – THE ESSENTIALS 

We are looking for a passionate speech pathologist who loves working with preschool and primary school children to join Speech Bubble. The position is suited to new graduates and speech pathologists with 0 to 5 years-experience. It is a permanent full-time position with 3-month probation period.  

Your caseload is predominantly paediatric (small percentage of clients are teens) and will contain a variety of early intervention  for speech, language, literacy, auditory processing, articulation and fluency clients.  

You will be based primarily within our clinic rooms in Edithvale. We provide treatment through all modes of service delivery: Clinic F2F, Telehealth, School and Home visits (as required). 

You will administer evidence-based assessments and deliver speech therapy intervention,  write reports and communications on a-daily-basis to a high standard. 

We are a growing practice with scope to expand and develop your role. Your experience, background and interests will be valued and transferred to how it can contribute to supporting and developing your skills, the practice and services to clients. Clinical support, mentoring and training will be provided. 

An attractive pay agreement (above award) based on experience will be offered. 

Days for the positions – Monday – Thursday 9-5pm Friday 9-3pm (Client free Friday afternoons). We are open to discussion for flexibility in hours, including Saturdays if desired.

Essential Criteria: 

• Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia (or eligible) 

• Working with Children Check cleared. 
• Private Guild Insurance as a private practitioner (basic cover $2 million - Increased cover provided by Speech Bubble Speech Pathology). 
• Excellent time-management and organisational skills. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to work independently while also seeking support as required. 

• Shown interest and/or experience working with children (in area other than Speech Pathology). 
• Must have a positive attitude, ability to work within a team and a growth mind-set. 

Desirable Criteria 

• Driver’s Licence and own car (not essential - Travel 0-20%) 
• Experience and/or interest in working with a diverse range of clients in early intervention and school aged children; including those with  Articulation/Phonology; Literacy; Early intervention (Language), ASD, Auditory processing, swallowing assessments and special needs.
