Psychologist

Very Helpful Chats is Australia's leading neuro-affirming allied health practice for the neurodivergent, ADHD and Autistic Community. We are a telehealth-only service and offer our clients psychology, occupational therapy, dietetics, NDIS supports, mental health treatment, social groups and assessments (psych & OT).

We are currently looking for psychologists with full AHPRA registration to provide mental health services to keep up with demand from clients eager to work with neurodiversity-affirming professionals.

Position Summary:

As a Psychologist, you will be responsible for delivering mental health treatment and NDIS supports via telehealth to the best client group in Australia - neurodivergent people! We are currently looking to recruit therapists for ongoing psychology work. Training to offer assessments of Autism and ADHD are a possibility in the future, but not a current recruitment priority for us.

As a registered psychologist, you can be a contractor or employee, depending on your personal preference & circumstances - and we'll never ask you to work evenings or weekends (unless you want to, of course!).

• Salary ranges between $100k to $120k for registered psychologists (superannuation not included in these figures)

Contractor benefits

• For registered psychologists, we also offer the opportunity for contract work. We need a minimum commitment of 3 days per week to keep up with client demand.
• Our contractor rates for therapy services start around $150 for early career psychs per completed service (50 min standard appt plus notes).

Job Requirements:

• Full registration with AHPRA as a psychologist. Unfortunately, we do not have any vacancies for provisional psychologists at the present time, although you are welcome to submit an expression of interest to be considered for future recruitment.
• Experience delivering mental health treatment to adults, teens or kids. Experience working with the neurodivergent community, Autistic adults/teens/kids or ADHD adults, teens, kids, and/or other neurodivergent people, such as those with learning differences or intellectual disability.
• Experience providing mental health treatment for people living with chronic illness, pain, or other health conditions (desirable)
• Neurodivergent, disabled, & spoonie psychs, and psychs with a lived experience of mental illness/mental health conditions are very encouraged to apply!
• You will need to have your own private office, a computer with high-speed, reliable internet, and an amazing webcam that didn't come default with your PC/laptop.
