Looking for a General or Clinical Psychologist to join a small private practice in New Farm, QLD. Starting off with one-two days a week with the opportunity to grow to full-time if desired.

Exhale psychology provides therapy for a range of general mental health issues, with a particular focus on the treatment of eating disorders and complex PTSD.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide counselling services to individuals in a private practice setting
• Use evidence based approaches in therapy
• Prepare written reports relating to client matters (e.g, GP letters, reports and case notes)
• Practice in alignment with AHPRA standards
• Engage in ongoing professional development and supervised support.

Essential criteria:

• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Eligible to apply for a Medicare Provider number;
• A current ABN (or willingness to obtain one);
• A current indemnity insurance policy (or willingness to obtain such a policy prior to commencement of role);
• Must align with Exhale’s values of offering treatment that is neuroaffirming, LGBQAI+ inclusive, and Health At Every Size (HAES)/non-weight focused (please address this in cover letter)
• Experience in the use of evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and/or Schema Therapy
• Strong ability to maintain professional boundaries with patients
• Special interest in working with eating disorders, trauma, and complex mental health conditions
• Healthy relationship with food (it is strongly recommended that you do not have a personal experience of an eating disorder or disordered eating within the last two years)

Desirable criteria:

• Experience working with eating disorders, trauma, and/or complex mental health conditions
• Experience delivering non weight-focused eating disorder treatment
