Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Psychologists to join our team, focusing on risk assessment and the implementation of short-term risk management strategies with Work Cover clients. This role is ideal for a professional who has a strong understanding of mental health crises and is skilled in managing immediate risks while ensuring clients receive the care and support they need. As a member of Acacia Psychology, you will have the flexibility to work from home and enjoy a highly supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for clients dealing with mental health crises, including assessing the potential for self-harm, suicide risk, and other high-risk behaviors.
- Short-Term Risk Management: Develop and implement short-term risk management strategies to address immediate safety concerns and stabilize clients.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate therapeutic interventions for clients in acute distress, focusing on stabilizing symptoms and ensuring safety.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on risk assessments, management plans, and client progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Case Review: Participate in team meetings to review cases, share insights, and contribute to the development of best practices in risk management.
Key Requirements
- Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist.
- Strong knowledge of short-term risk management strategies and therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and support clients in acute distress.
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
