Job title: Psychologist - Paediatric - Private Practice

Salary: $86K to $130K per annum + super + PD

Location: Mornington, VIC

  • Access to Salary Packaging (Salary Packaging benefit value $6,400 plus Entertainment benefit of $2,650 value)
  • Professional Development per annum (pro rata for part time):
    • $1,000 individual allowance plus paid organisational PD (first aid, Jacqui Snider Coash Approach etc)
    • 5 days professional development leave
  • Home office setup allowance

About the company:

 

They provide support under the NDIS to children from birth to 12 years of age. They have been supporting children and their families on the Mornington Peninsula for over 40 years. 

 

They are looking for someone who is looking to grow with our company and work collaboratively with our team of Therapists and the wider community. You will have a current Working With Children Check, Driver's License and access to a reliable car.

 

About the Role:

 

We have exciting opportunities for Early Childhood Practitioner / Therapist to join us on a permanent part time or full time basis.

 

In this role you will:

  • Approach each child and family with equity regardless of differences in ability, ethnic or family culture, sexual orientation and religious or political background and be sensitive towards a family’s values and beliefs in your service delivery.
                                                                                       
  • Provide high quality, evidence-based assessment, intervention and support to children with disabilities and their families/carers, with individuals or with small groups of clients in their natural setting (i.e., schools, pre-schools, community settings, home) or at the clinic.
                                                                                       
  • For each individual client, set specific, functional and measurable goals and evaluate progress against these goals.
                                                                                       
  •  Monitor the intervention and evaluate client progress regularly, adjusting the program as required.
                                                                                        
  • Provide high quality, evidence-based information and training for families/carers and other professionals, to assist others working with the child to implement strategies to support the child to achieve their goals.
                                                                                       
  • Create a welcoming environment for families and provide all service and training utilising a capacity building approach, involving collaboration, reflective and strength-based practice, and strategies designed to empower clients and their families/carers.
                                                                                       
  • Work as a collaborative member of the multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary team, utilising the support of the team to assist you and provide professional discipline specific information and support to other staff to maintain and continuously improve the standard of the service at the company.
  • Undertake appropriate Professional Development (PD) related to work, which may include on the job and/or off-site support, continuing PD, readings, and evidence-based practice. 
  • Observe, record and assess children’s progress as required and provide written and verbal reports to parents and other professionals within nominated timelines while maintaining confidentiality and privacy of information relating to the client and their family at all times.
  • In partnership with families and other professional staff undertake 12 monthly reviews of the Family Service and Support Plan (FSSP) and end of NDIS plan documentation as required. 
  • Complete documentation regarding client contact and other relevant information within the required timelines using the Client Record System (CRS) - SupportAbility - for all clients. 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Sound knowledge of discipline specific intervention for working in a paediatric setting with children with disabilities and developmental concerns within the Early Childhood Approach.
  • An understanding of the requirements of working in the NDIS setting and from a capacity building Early Childhood Approach.
  • Previous experience of working in a paediatric NDIS service provision setting (desirable). 

Essential Criteria: 


 

  • A recognised Bachelor degree or higher in Psychology;
  • Hold and maintain full registration with AHPRA;
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC);
  • NDIS workers screening check;
  • Level 2 First Aid qualification (including anaphylaxis, asthma, CPR);
  • Victorian Driver’s Licence
