About the Role

At Ascend Health, our therapists collaborate with university students functioning as disability support workers and carers. Our unique model empowers students to evolve from support workers to therapy assistants and ultimately, therapists.

As a therapist, you'll work a minimum of 4 days a week, with a minimum of 3 community sessions every day. In between, dedicate time to coaching and training students and managing community support services. Enjoy a hands-on role in member management (we call our patients members), teaching your methods to students, and contributing to community, disability, personal care, and mental health services.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate therapeutic interventions for members experiencing disability.
• Provide consultation to members, families, carers, and professionals.
• Apply Good Practice principles and relevant legislation.
• Conduct initial assessments, participate in team meetings, and provide treatment planning recommendations.
• Ensure continuity of care through referrals.
• Support and mentor new graduate therapists.
• Perform regular competency checks, record session notes via Ascend Health Plus.
• Prioritise patient safety and maintain a hazard-free workplace.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• AHPRA Registration.
• Working with Children Check.
• National Police Clearance.
• Annual Flu Vaccination.
• NDIS Worker Screening.
• COVID-19 Vaccination.
• Driver’s License.

Remuneration Breakdown:

• $75k to $130k FTE Remuneration, dependent on session count (commission structure applies).
• Salaries increase at set milestones every few months.
• Commission for billables with percentage increase based on experience.
