Experienced paediatric occupational therapist - part time role. Minimum 2 years experience required.

ABOUT THE ROLES

Occupational Therapy

  • Provision of Occupational Therapy for early intervention, school aged and teens (2-14 years). The role is based within the clinic setting with consultations in the home/school settings for assessment and supporting children to achieve their goals.
  • Complete standardised and informal assessments to identify the strengths and challenges of the child in partnership with the family and their community (e.g. kinder/school)
  • Deliver evidence based and goal directed occupational therapy interventions.
  • Deliver group therapy programs with other allied health team members and allied health assistants
  • Commitment to understanding and applying a neuro-affirming framework and principals
  • Work in partnership with the family and key stake holders e.g. educators, paediatrician, other allied health professionals that are part of the child’s team.
  • Participate in education and professional development offered to parents, educators, community

What are we looking for?

Occupational Therapist with:

  • Desire to work with early intervention and school aged children
  • Interest/ experience with neurodiverse clients and their families
  • Commitment to neurodiversity affirming inclusive practice
  • Sound knowledge of current occupational therapy standards and best practise.
  • Interest/experience working in partnership with parents and educators to support the child’s therapy goals in the home/community
  • Interested in joining a collaborative and supportive multi-disciplinary team.
  • Graduate or Master’s degree.
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with Occupational Therapy Board and AHPRA
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills

Applicants must have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) practise standards and framework.
  • Information Technology competence: e.g. our practice management software is Halaxy (or willingness to learn)
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and supervision
  • Current working with children check
  • Current National police check
  • Current CPR/first aid
  • Victorian Driver’s licence and access to own vehicle.
