Position Overview

Become a vital part of our multidisciplinary Allied Health Services team at the groundbreaking Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre. Here, amidst stunning surroundings, we offer not only short-term, accessible accommodation but also a comprehensive range of Allied Health services including a state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym and hydrotherapy pool.

Our goal is to bring specialized care closer to home for Far North Queenslanders, fostering independence and enhancing quality of life. This is a permanent part time opportunity with flexible days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough client assessments to understand and address their physical needs.
• Trial and recommend appropriate equipment to optimize client functionality.
• Prepare and manage funding applications to secure essential assistive technology and supports.
• Advocate for clients' personal support needs and assist with funding applications.
• Provide expert advice on equipment and lifestyle management, including pressure area care.
• Complete assessments for home modifications and submit detailed reports.
• Empower individuals through tailored strategies and advocate for their lifestyle choices.
• Deliver hands-on upper limb therapy in both individual and group settings.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Current AHPRA registration and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate caseloads independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven track record of achieving high-level outcomes for clients.
• Experience working with individuals with Spinal Cord Injury or physical disabilities preferred.
• Familiarity with fee-for-service environments is advantageous.
