PHYSIOTHERAPIST POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Position Title: Physiotherapist

Location: Shop 8/80 Ebley St, Bondi Junction, NSW 2022

Prepared: February 2025

Reporting To: Directors / Practice Manager / Senior Clinicians

About Us

At ISO Physiotherapy we are reshaping the health of the residents in the Eastern Suburbs. Our vision is to guide each patient in achieving their health goals and leading an active pain-free lifestyle. We are a growing practice in Bondi Junction. Our reputation has been building over the past 6 years; and we strive to provide a great experience for each and every patient. We place a strong emphasis on not only providing quality Physiotherapy services to the community but also a supportive and enjoyable place to work. The two level clinic has an onsite large gym facility, a resident massage therapist and a boutique Pilate studio (currently running private sessions).

We are located walking distance from Bondi Junction train station, Bondi Junction Westfield and located right next to the Eastgate Shopping Centre.

The caseload in our clinic is predominantly built up of professional and driven private clients who enjoy our Physiotherapy services and are prepared to spend the necessary time, effort and money on optimising their health.

About the role:

  • Full time
  • Treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal patients (80% are private patients)
  • Working alongside 2 experienced Physiotherapists
  • Weekly involvement with a Professional Soccer Club (training and games)
  • Build relationships with local referrer's

  • The role of Physiotherapist encompasses the roles and responsibilities as listed below as part of the ISO Physio team!

 

Expectations

Clinical expectations

  • You are expected to complete the following clinical compliance requirements:
  • Progress notes - to be completed within 24 hours of appointment.
  • Letters to be sent for all new clients who have been referred by a GP/Surgeon/Specialist or Allied Health Practitioner. Progress letters to be sent for any follow up consultation with GP/Surgeon/Specialist within 5 business days.
  • Practitioner Follow Ups
  • At the beginning of the month - follow up all cancellations which are not rebooked for the previous month

 

Wow experience for every client

  • Greeting and farewell with a smile on your face and in your voice
  • Ensures that client is greeted at their expected appointment time or that you ensure a notification has been sent if you’re running behind
  • Management of the client as if it is your Mum / Dad / family member!
  • Structured management plan documented
  • Physitrack used where appropriate

 

Communication

  • Actively listens to the client with empathy and care
  • Communicates verbally with care, confidence and clarity
  • Communicated physically with care confidence and clarity
  • Respectfully communicates all clinical information in the treatment rooms rather than welcome areas
  • Uses clear communication skills to provide structured reviews for best client outcomes

 

Technical Physiotherapy skills

  • Provides client with clarity on their problem / diagnosis and then structures management according to the specific factors or objective findings which are contributing to the clients presentation
  • Follows clinical assessment and management systems
  • Demonstrates and delivers high levels of clinical judgement and actively promotes preventative care and early intervention
  • Escalate treatment if not seeing any improvements at all within 4-6 sessions either senior Physio / imaging / case discussions

  • Creates absolute value for the client with amazing clinical, communication and soft skills
  • Selectively goes above and beyond for clients to create WOW!
  • Remember the 1 percent’ers - often the little things such as remembering names, family members etc make a big difference.
  • Structured management plan documented and sent after initial consultation
  • Follow Up emails after discharge / loss of contact

 

Learning and development expectations

  • Is active in keeping up to date with the literature (podcasts, websites, journals, video etc) and reflects this to the team
  • Attends regular weekly professional development group teachings
  • Is active in attending external professional development courses seminars educatio
  • You actively utilize the ISO Physio external education budget up to $1000 per year
  • Uses CPD resources such as Sports Map and physio Network

 

New client expectations

  • Professional relationships

- Nurtures relationships with >2 referral partners per month on average

-Attracts >2 new client per month via professional referrals

  • Word of mouth

-Attracts >2 new patients per month via word of mouth (WOM)

  • Educational content

-Provides the team with >1 educational blog per month to be used for social media

-Contributes to the social media content (mainly instagram)

  • Community events

-Is active in organising and being involved in >1 event per quarter on average

Hours

  • This is a full time role that will encompass both clinical and non clinical responsibilities as part of the ISO Physio Team.
  • You will be expected to work an average of 38 hours per week
  • You are expected to make yourself available for some outside of hours involvement as part of your role to help your growth and progression as well as that of the ISO Physio Team:
  • Eg. Presentation / education / involvement at community events, sporting groups, sporting clubs, events etc
  • We will also provide growth and learning opportunities
  • Weekly Professional development sessions
  • Monthly personal development sessions
  • Quarter catchup PD session

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • AHPRA and Medicare Registration
  • APA Member
  • Professional insurances (PL and PI)
  • Registration with health insurance providers
  • SIRA registration
  • First aid and police check (as needed for profession)

 

Remuneration structure

Your base salary will be above the Award for your level of experience, with the opportunity to transition to a commission-based structure of 40% and superannuation within the first six months.

 

Remuneration is reviewed every six months in line with your contribution and performance as part of the team and based on your long term desire statement.

Your base remuneration will progress annually on your start date in line with the Health Professionals and Support Services, and we aim to increase our consultation fees annually. However it can also be increased as you create amazing health care experiences and outcomes for your clients. This will happen by meeting and exceeding the expectations as outlined above. This will result in your remuneration progressing over time as your appointment book consolidates and you are able to help more clients.
