Job Title:  Mental Health Professionals - Townsville, Mount Isa or Cairns

Practice Information:
This organisation has been providing allied health, community aged care, mental health and wellbeing services for 30-years. A provider of culturally competent community based and outreach health care services since 1993; this organisation is a vibrant not-for-profit, servicing over 50 communities throughout remote and rural Queensland. With a large team of multidisciplinary health professionals, the organisation boasts strong community connections and a passion for supporting ‘healthier people’.

The organisation is currently seeking adaptable Psychologists (various levels), Accredited Mental Health Nurses, Mental Health Occupational Therapists and Accredited Mental Health Social Workers to join their team as a Mental Health Professional.
 
Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality mental health assessment, treatment and intervention services, as well as engagement and educational activities within the community. This role is offered on a full-time or part-time basis to suit your lifestyle! This position can also be Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) out of Townsville or Carins, with telehealth option on your off week, for full-time employees. As a Mental Health Professional you will have the opportunity to expand your skillset whilst working with a broad range of clients, including children and adults, older persons, people with drug and alcohol issues. You will travel to various culturally diverse communities across the Northern Queensland regions. The team often cover a lot of distance and it won’t always be easy, but it will be memorable. Helping those who may not otherwise receive healthcare and support, you’ll get to see the real difference your work makes in people’s lives, allowing clients to live and receive treatment locally. It's challenging, but we make a difference. The organisations is seeking dedicated individuals who are culturally sensitive and adaptable, with the ability to work both independently and autonomously. You will have high-level communication and negotiation skills to establish and support respectful and trusting relationships with individuals, teams, staff and the community at large.

This variety enables us to collaborate in our engagement with clients and learn from one another’s viewpoints. While not mandatory, experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds will be highly regarded. The organisation loves their work - so will you! Qualifications & Experience:
Seasoned candidates are encouraged to apply, provided you have current registration with AHPRA, and AASW (if applying as a Social Worker).

Suitable professions include:

  • Registered Psychologists (Provisional Psychologists are welcome and encouraged to apply)
  • Mental Health Certified Nurse
  • Mental health Accredited Social Workers
  • Mental Health OT's
  • Also very interested in providing student placements and work experience

Please note:

  • You will need a current, unrestricted 'C' class Australian Driver's Licence
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia
  • Indigenous Australians are strongly encouraged to apply

Job Type:  
Permanent - Full Time

Salary Information:
In return for your hard work and dedication, you'll receive an excellent starting salary ranging from $76,000 to $97,000, commensurate with your qualifications and experience, PLUS a range of additional benefits, including:

  • Up to $15,900 salary sacrificing
  • Annual leave loading of 17.5%
  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • Relocation Assistance
