About Us:

Private practices can be busy, with a high turnover of staff and clients. Our passion is trying to slow down where possible and provide long term and continuous care to our clients. We take pride in the homely feel of our practice, and our team culture of quirky, diverse and passionate people.

Therapy House is located in Brisbane's leafy suburb, The Gap, only 8km away from the city centre. Our lunch room looks out to the mountains and the practice is situated in suburbia so it doesn't feel as chaotic as turning up to a big shopping centre or medical centre. Our current team come from a variety of different backgrounds, including PHDs, Clinical Endorsement, Ed and Dev Registrar and 4+2 General Registrants. We are committed to making our space one of a kind, and offer therapy and assessment to children, adolescents, adults, and couples.

We understand that working as a solo clinician can be an isolating experience, and know many clinicians enjoy autonomy but don’t want to be an island! Clinicians interested in joining us as consultants, under a Service Agreement Model would have opportunities to join night peer supervisions and connect with colleagues over lunch breaks. You’ll also be welcome to attend our bi-annual clinic social events.

About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced psychologist who is particularly passionate about working with a range of clients from childhood to adulthood. We receive many referrals for child, adolescent and adult mental health, for therapy and assessment. To support maintaining and growing the clinics positive reputation, we are interested in psychologists who have experience working across models and are confident that they can keep up with the ethical administration without the management and structure of the employee model.

We see the Service Agreement Model as a more independent way for experienced psychologists to run their business within our practice. We don’t want to take a percentage of your income. You pay us for our services and you can take home the rest of your earning. Other advantages of this model would be to have non-direct billable hours outside of your clinic days and earn 100% of this income.

Ideally, we are looking for a clinician who is happy to work 3 days a week, but other arrangements will be considered. We are happy to discuss room availability and day preferences with the recent addition of a new room providing some flexibility.

Why Run Your Business Under the Umbrella of Therapy House?

We get great feedback from our clients relating to our clinic space. We find that many children and adults feel more relaxed coming into a waitroom that feels like a loungeroom, and our rooms are well resourced with comfortable chairs, activities, dimmable lights and soft carpet. We find this is so important when supporting neurodiverse families and we want you to be able to focus more on your therapeutic alliance and planning!

We host three-weekly peer supervision nights that you are welcome to attend, and some team events where we love to enjoy each others company, bond over the challenging profession we are in and reflect on our successes. We have a large kitchen and rest area which you can use in between clients to relax and unwind and friendly admin staff that support with bookings, client care and other admin files.
