About the role:

Are you a passionate Speech Pathologist looking to join a team and meet the growing demand within the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) sector? As a Speech Pathologist, you will be crucial in providing assessment, therapy, and support to individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties. You will collaborate as a part of the multidisciplinary team, working alongside occupational therapists, dietitians, and other professionals to provide comprehensive and integrated care to the participants.

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to determine participants' speech, language, and swallowing needs.
  • Designing individualized therapy plans and interventions to address participants' communication and swallowing goals.
  • Advocating on behalf of NDIS participants to ensure they receive the necessary support and services.
  • Writing detailed reports in compliance with NDIS requirements to document assessment findings, therapy progress, and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with support coordinators, local area coordinators, and families to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with occupational therapists, dietitians, and other professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Celebrating achievements and milestones with participants, their families, and your colleagues, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • NDIS experience
  • Qualification as a Speech Pathologist, holding a recognized degree or equivalent.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Speech Pathology Australia).
  • Experience in conducting assessments and providing therapy to individuals with various communication and swallowing difficulties.
  • Knowledge of different conditions, including neurological disorders, ASD, psychosocial challenges, and their impact on communication and swallowing.
  • Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and other assistive technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports, liaise with stakeholders, and effectively communicate with participants and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, valuing teamwork and interprofessional collaboration.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in the field of speech pathology.
