About the role: 

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. In this role you will work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to deliver person-centred services to enhance participation and independence, empowering people with a disability to live a full life and achieve their goals. 

We have positions available in both Darwin and Alice Springs, with the opportunity to also be part of our remote clinical team and deliver speech pathology services across remote communities in the Top End and Central Australia. 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

As a mobile podiatrists providing support and assessment through diabetic foot screening and footcare advice, along with gait and posture analysis, treatment across a range of  prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical conditions that affect your feet and lower limbs. Where clinically appropriate, also offer the following services at home:

  • Working in a culturally diverse environment, providing a contemporary, evidence-based speech pathology service, including assessment, treatment planning and evaluation, for people presenting with a wide range of conditions and syndromes.
  • Working collaboratively with families/caregivers to assess, plan, implement and review targeted and meaningful developmental therapy.
  • Selecting, developing, and tailoring augmentative and alternative communication systems, programs and resources for participants with communication needs.
  • Leading and contributing to the development of individual and group programs within Carpentaria Therapy Service areas.

 

About you:

This position is open to candidates seeking either full-time or part-time employment. We are looking for someone with demonstrated clinical competency and experience in conducting assessments and writing high quality individualised assessment and program reports, and a strong commitment to supporting clients to achieve their goals working in a person/family centred practice model.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to interact and negotiate with a wide range of people along with experience working with clients and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Undergraduate or Post Graduate qualification in Speech Pathology.
  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia (or eligible for membership)

You will also need to hold (or have the ability to obtain) a current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid certificate, evidence of Australian work rights, and an NT Drivers Licence.
