General Practitioner (Full-Time)

North Blackwater General Practice – Walkerston will offer a mixed billing service, only bulk billing concession and children under 16 years of age and will be a combination of General Medicine and Occupational Medicine e.g. Coal Mine Workers Health Assessments, Pre-Employment Medicals and Workers’ Compensation. The practice is new and situated in the Walkerston Health Hub. The practice is located in Walkerston which is a small town located on the Peak Downs Highway, 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) south-west of Mackay in Queensland and is home to approximately 7000 residents (including the surrounding areas). The township is and the main source of income in the region is agriculture. Walkerston is serviced by the shopping centre, and schools, churches and police station and is only 15 minutes from the large township of Mackay in Queensland.

Qualifications & experience

• MBBS or equivalent
• FRACGP or FACRRM
• General / Specialist AHPRA registration
• Able to make an initial 2 year commitment (would be advantageous)
