About Us:

Talk It Up Speech Pathology is a locally owned and operated provider of quality speech pathology services. The business manager and owner is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with 27 years-experience, and employs an experienced team of 4 clinicians and full-time administration support staff. Talk It Up Speech Pathology provides assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders predominantly for children, but also for some adults. We are a registered provider for Private Health Insurance groups, Medicare, Department of Veteran's Affairs and the NDIS. We provide a clinic to assist families through the process of Autism assessment, including administering the ADOS-2. You have the opportunity to be involved in this clinic, and to develop your skills in your areas of interest. We pride ourselves on a high level of integrity and work in an ethical manner to meet the needs of our clients.

Position Summary:

As the Speech Pathologist you are responsible for providing speech and language therapy, assessment and consultation. If you are a new graduate, you will be supported by an experienced clinician on a regular basis. Your salary will be negotiated based on experience and skills.

A full-time position is available, however part-time clinicians wishing to work 3 days or more are very welcome to apply.

We pride ourselves on having an experienced team, who are extremely supportive of each other, and staff morale is excellent. We have a full-time office manager providing administration support, making our days more productive with clients. You will have a generalist caseload and will work within a variety of settings, including the clinic, homes, schools and childcare centres. Clinicians plan their own schedules and are able to access regular clinical supervision and professional development opportunities, with a generous PD budget. You will be provided with a laptop, iPad and mobile phone. Travel allowance is provided and we have an extensive range of resources for you to access.


 

Requirements

  • Professional communication style to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Good computer skills required for the company practice management software
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Ability to follow direction and take initiative
  • Willingness to learn from other clinicians and, if relevant, provide supervision and guidance to less experienced staff
  • Ability to commit to your caseload for at least 12 months.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide speech and language therapy to clients within the program models
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy, train and support clients to run goals and interventions
  • Administer speech and language assessments, develop and implement therapy plans for any speech and language referrals
  • Monitor, evaluate and review progress and therapy plans
  • Undertake appropriate professional development, including self-reflection
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines to provide holistic therapy programs 
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • A commitment to meeting client and organisational expectations
  • Adopt and embrace company values and philosophy
  • Commitment to work as an effective team member
  • Promote the company and its interests to the local and wider community
  • Ensure all communication is completed in a professional and polite manner, to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Student supervision is an option for more experienced clinicians.
