Speech Pathologist
Join Our Dynamic Team at Coastal Paediatric Therapy!
About Us
At Coastal Paediatric Therapy, we’re not just a clinic — we’re a community! Established in 2022, we’re a passionate multidisciplinary team providing speech pathology and occupational therapy services to children and families across the Gold Coast. We work with children aged 0-12, supporting them through their developmental stages and early years of life.
Our vision is clear: to create a supportive, flexible, and collaborative environment where clinicians thrive, families feel supported, and every child receives the highest standard of care. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for someone who shares our values of family-centred care, flexibility, evidence-based practice, and community connection to join our team.
Ash, the director, created a speech pathology podcast called ‘Dairy of a New Grad Speechie’ in 2020 to help make the transition from uni to working life a little easier. The main messages the podcast promotes are about finding a workplace to support a balanced lifestyle and ensuring speech pathologists are aware of burnout and how best to avoid it. Since opening Coastal Paediatric Therapy, Ash wants to ensure that all employees are supported not only as new graduates but all the way through their careers. Coastal Paediatric Therapy is a direct reflection of the messages the podcast communicates; therefore, if you're looking for an awesome workplace that is all about work-life balance, autonomy, growth and friendship, then you have found the company for you!!
The Role
This is a clinic and mobile-based role, with the clinic located in Nerang, and mobile sessions in various locations across the Gold Coast, from Pimpama to Broadbeach and the South Gold Coast. We understand that each clinician works differently, so we offer flexibility in your schedule. Whether you prefer a full clinic day, a mix of mobile and clinic-based sessions, or blocks of admin time, we’ll work with you to create a schedule that suits your work style.
You’ll take over an existing clinician's caseload, providing evidence-based assessment, planning, and intervention for children aged 0-12. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in community outreach programs, further strengthening your connection to the families we serve.
What We Need From You:
- A degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Speech Pathologist, ideally with paediatric clients. New graduates are welcome to apply as well!
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and their families
- An open driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience (or eagerness to learn) in areas such as AAC, speech sound disorders, disabilities, feeding, early intervention, and OFM (oral function management)
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check, or the ability to obtain them
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
What We Offer:
- Above award wages, plus superannuation and annual leave
- Flexible leave options, including the ability to take unpaid leave during school holidays
- Full-time (38 hours) or part-time arrangements with negotiable hours/days
- Client autonomy — you’ll have control over your caseload and only work in the areas that excite you. If you’re not interested in a certain area of practice, we respect that!
- A generous annual professional development budget to keep you growing
- In-house supervision with an experienced senior speech pathologist and weekly group mentoring (2 hours of support each week)
- Weekly travel allowance for mobile sessions
- Regular team days and social events to help you connect with your colleagues in a fun, relaxed environment
- No requirement to work through public holidays — we believe in true work-life balance
- Fair and achievable KPIs, with a focus on supporting your career longevity and maintaining a balanced lifestyle
- The opportunity to grow with the team as Coastal Paediatric Therapy expands its services across the Gold Coast
- Flexible starting date, with the position open from April 2025!
Our Culture:
At Coastal Paediatric Therapy, we prioritise community. Our team is not just a group of colleagues — we are a family. We believe that a healthy, collaborative team culture is key to success, which is why we focus on mutual support, open communication, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued. If you want to be part of a practice where people matter, where learning never stops, and where you’ll have the flexibility to live your best life — we want to hear from you.
