We’ve all had similar experiences. Walking into a sterile, lifeless waiting room, sitting, unnoticed for an inordinate amount of time — only to be ushered out almost as soon as your name has been called. Your doctor is an unfamiliar face, likely fatigued from the rotating door of ailments. And as you walk out with prescription in hand, with a feeling that is akin to when you complete a chore, the doctor has already forgotten your name.

Like most industries in modern day society, healthcare has become disciplined and methodical. It’s in and out, allowing only for strict 10 minute appointments to make room for the next in line. There is no time for a holistic approach to your heath, and little value placed on your time.

Over the years we have lost something that was once a fundamental feature of medical practices around the nation: heart.

However here at My Country Doctors, we have not forgotten that this is a sunburnt country, full of warmth and jovial irreverence. Our nation has always prided itself on providing the utmost hospitality to our citizens, to celebrating our local areas, and most of all, sharing the load. And this is something we wholeheartedly intend to bring back.

My Country Doctor’s is a new way of delivering healthcare based on the old way of doing things. We strive to take the image of the cold, antiseptic, unwelcoming medical office and return it to the neighbourhood practice full of the warmth that Australians have been sorely missing.

We want you to enjoy taking care of your health, instead of seeing it as a chore to complete as seldom as possible. And although you may have become accustomed to having a doctor who is an indifferent stranger, we can assure that your country doctor will become a trusted friend who looks after you.
