UnitingCare Community
UnitingCare Community is currently Queensland’s largest single community service provider and a respected industry leader in child and family, crisis and disability services.
Our core mission is to continue to reduce disadvantage; to serve Queenslanders of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to live valued, safe and productive lives; and to ensure all Queenslanders have someone to turn to when in crisis who will support them in their immediate need and provide a lasting impact. We do this with the support of 2,400 plus staff and more than 6,000 volunteers. On any given day, we could be providing a safe place to live for a young person living in foster care, away from their natural family; offering financial assistance and advice to an individual in financial distress; supporting a person living with a disability to live independently; or providing secure accommodation to victims of domestic and family violence.
As a state-based organisation, we can be flexible and agile in our response to community need, responding quickly to deliver a range of services including community recovery responses and drought relief. We receive funding from state and federal governments and private sources. In addition, funds we generate through our Lifeline Shops are reinvested to support services and programs for vulnerable Queenslanders.
We have a large geographical reach across Queensland with over 280 services state-wide, ranging from services focused on children and young people to adults and seniors.
Disability support servicesWe offer disability support services to adults, children, and young people. We work with people with a disability to create valued and meaningful lives. We do this through the delivery of planning and vision creating, supported living, lifestyle development, flexible community-based breaks and family support services and operate throughout south-east Queensland and in Townsville.
