Medeco Medical Centre Penrith
Medeco Medical Centre Penrith has been operating since 2007 and in 2014 added a separate section to diagnose and treat Skin Cancer. It was named Medeco Skin Cancer Clinic Penrith.
Medeco has doctors that work in the GP patient base only, doctors that work in the Skin Cancer patient base only, and doctors that work in both . The Doctors work autonomously and choose the days that best suit them .
It is a mixed billing practice . The practice charges each doctor a facility fee every fortnight. It is based on a billings % ranging from 65% to 75% depending on whether they are part time , fulltime , and in the Skin Cancer section, whether they require an exclusive or shared nurse.
Medeco uses the latest software, has 2 treatment rooms, pathology on premises and a pharmacy next door. A variety of Allied Health professionals are across the road.
There are 6 doctors operating from Medeco in a part time and fulltime capacity .
Medeco is a family owned business and not a corporate
There is parking on either side of High Street and parks all around.
Medeco relocated 2 years ago with the pharmacy next door, so premises are quite new.
It is a family practice and the team is very friendly and professional .
Doctors choose the days that suit them, advise us of their holidays and if they want to introduce any new techniques eg injectables and recently, iron infusions, we are open to discussing the costs and benefits .
The doctor chooses what type of client base they would like to focus on so that the booking system reflects that. We work together with the doctor in advertising and promoting their practice for growth, or if they want to tailor it to eg the number of patients per day , or females only etc.
When going on holidays, we discuss with the doctor how they want their patient base handled during that time and whether they would like one of the other doctors to caretake whilst away for peace of mind.
Generally, the doctors at the Medical Centre are autonomous on how they want run their practice and we try to accommodate as much as we can .
None of our doctors are employed. They all operate under a Service Agreement between us and them and a facility fee is charged to them fortnightly based on agreed billings %.
