Acacia Therapy
Louise is an occupational therapist (OT) who has worked in a variety of clinical settings across Queensland and NSW. After graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Louise started her career in Toowoomba working within a work rehabilitation service. From here she recognised a special interest in community based neurorehabilitation and transitioned into a community setting to work with children and adults with physical disability.
Louise then moved to Sydney and the Southern Highlands region of NSW where she worked as a Senior Occupational Therapist for a paediatric and adult service within the public health system.
In addition to her clinical work, Louise has also worked as a Discipline Specialist at the University of Sydney in the School of Occupational Therapy. Here she taught occupational therapy students in subjects such as "Biomechanical and Sensorimotor Strategies" and "Upper Limb Rehabilitation". Louise taught her students theories based on neurorehabilitation techniques and emphasised the importance of treating each client as an individual to help them achieve their unique goals.
Louise has now returned to Toowoomba so she can return to her passion of providing community based occupational therapy support to children and adults within their homes and community. Louise endeavours to support her clients so that they may continue to Live how they like, Learnwhat they need, and Growinto the person they choose to become.

Acacia trees are “pioneering”. They take on harsh environments so that other trees can flourish in a shaded, safe and supportive environment... and we aim to do the same!
