Better Health on Buderim
Appointments:
Better Health on Buderim operates on an appointment only system. Every effort will be made to accomodate your preferred time. Emergencies will always be given first priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforseen delay or if the doctor has been called away. It is also important for you to indicate to reception the type or length of appointment required. Please ask if in doubt.
If you are unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible so another person may benefit.
To monitor your health and fulfill our ethical and legal responsibilities, we require that you attend your doctor for repeat prescriptions.
After Hours:
For After Hours Care, please phone Home Doctor Service on 13SICK (137425).
Home Visits:
Home visits are available for regular patients whose conditions prevent them from attending the surgery, and who live within a reasonable distance of the practice - within approximately 10Km
Telephone Access:
If the doctor is with a patient a message will be taken and you will be advised when it is likely your call is to be returned. Please advise reception if it is an emergency. There may be times when it would be appropriate for the call to be triaged by our practice nurse.
Fees and Billing Arrangements:
All patients on a current Concession Card (Pension, Commonwealth or Health Care Card), Veterans Affairs and children under 16 are bulk billed under the medicare incentive scheme. Saturday appointments do incur a surcharge. NO Bulk Billing service is available on Saturday.
For all other patients, the fee is to be paid in full on the day by cash, cheque, credit card or eftpos and a claim can be made through Medicare (please ensure your bank account details are registered with Medicare). Some consultations, such as insurance medicals, do not attract a medicare rebate, if in doubt please ask.
If you have any difficulty in paying our fees, please discuss it with us.
Reminder System:
Our practice is committed to preventative care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not with to be part of this system, please let us know at reception.
