Welcome to Toormina & Sawtell Medical Centres

The Toormina Medical Centre and Sawtell Medical Centre provide high quality, comprehensive medical care to the people in the Coffs Harbour Region.

Toormina and Sawtell Medical Centres are committed to ongoing quality improvement, as part of this commitment we undertake a 3 year accreditation cycle with AGPAL, who review our practice against the RACGP standards of General Practice. We are also an accredited training practice within the GPSynergy Training Organisation.

We are situated adjacent to the Toormina Centro Shopping complex in Toormina, with ample parking and access to the many services offered at Toormina Centro.

We also have a practice in Sawtell at 71 First Avenue, a popular beachside tourist destination.

Appointments

Consultation times:

Toormina Medical Centre is open between 7.30 am and 7.00 pm Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays

Saturday  clinics  9.00 am to 12.00 pm ( walk-in appointments)

Sundays 9.00 am to 11.00  am (walk-in appointments)

Sawtell Medical Centre is open 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Appointments may be booked by calling the medical centre on (02) 6653 1766, between the hours of 7.30 am and 7.00 pm, or through our webpage www.toorminamedical.com.au .

For your convenience we have now added the online appointment booking facility to make an appointment with your usual doctor; you can also download the free Appointuit App for your smart phone to make appointments on the go.

Brief appointments are scheduled with an allocated doctor every day for:

• Emergency Attendance
• Simple single item health issues
• After Hours and Emergencies

A doctor from one of our two clinics is On-call for emergencies every day of the year. The doctor on-call can be contacted by calling the medical centre on (02) 6653 1766. A recorded message will give you instructions as to how to contact the on-call doctor.

Outside of medical centre hours, patients needing to be seen urgently have the following options:

• Contact the on-call doctor
• Present at the Coffs Harbour Base Hospital Emergency Department.

In case of emergencies, call an ambulance by dialling 000.

Billing

So that we can continue to provide quality medical services to our patients we are a private billing practice, however we do bulk bill some patients, if you have difficulty covering your medical costs you should discuss this with your doctor.

All Children under the age of 16 years are bulk billed by our doctors.
