About Good Health Dentistry
Lindfield Dental PracticeThis science in dentistry has evolved rapidly over the past 10 years or so. This science recognises that the teeth, jawbones, cranial bones, the bones of the neck and spine are all dynamically connected. This relationship is governed by natural laws of the body which must be understood and obeyed. If this natural relationship is ignored then serious and chronic repercussions can take place throughout the whole body. This puts the responsibility on the part of dentists to pass on this knowledge in practice so that our patients can live a more healthy and happy life. It is our passion to make this science practical and effective for you.
Over the past 15 to 20 years I have been treating children with narrow faces and crowded teeth, adults with TMJ and facial pain and those suffering with snoring and sleep apnoea. The direct effect of these diagnoses are less than ideal appearances, headaches and migraines, lack of deep sleep or inability to go to sleep, anxiety, depression, sore shoulders, neck's and lower back pain, daytime sleepiness impaired memory and cognitive ability, high blood pressure and strokes, and a general lack of well-being, to name just a few of the most obvious.
What has been noticed in treating all these patients is that most of them have very narrow upper jaws and a very high percentage of these patients have been treated with traditional orthodontics and often with extractions. The immediate and fundamental cause is usually the relationship between the upper and lower jaws and where these jaws sit within the head, and how the head sits on the spine.
All the different facets of dentistry practised this surgery encompasses principles of this holistic discipline. From the simplest of fillings, to the most complex cosmetic dentistry, the treatment of distorted teeth and faces of children, the treatment of facial and head pain and snoring and sleep apnoea our treatment is more complete and whole taking regard to these natural laws.
