Always telephone the surgery first. You will then be advised of the most suitable action.
Minor Operations
Diathermy, cryotherapy, surgical removal etc. are provided at our centre. We are adjacent to and work closely with Southeastern Sydney Day Surgery Centre which has an operating theatre enabling even quite complex operations.
Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions are NOT available over the phone
Test Results
No results are given over the phone, due to patient confidentiality. Details of results are best discussed by direct consultation with your doctor at a suitable appointment time, as they my require lengthy explanation.
Sterilisation
Our centre is cleaned professionally on a daily basis. All needles and syringes are used only once and then disposed of as clinical waste. All instruments used are professionally sterilised under the strictest controls using the facilities of the adjacent Day Surgery Centre.
Fees
We bulk bill all patients who have medicare cards and for all other patients without medicare there is a charge of $50.00 for a standard level 23 consultation.
Complaints & Suggestions
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the centre please let us know. We are always looking for ways to improve the efficiency of the practice.
Telephone Ethical Code
As you are aware, interruptions during the course of a consultation can be very distracting for both doctor and patient. Most queries are best dealt with by consultation, but if appropriate your doctor will discuss a telephone query with you. If the doctor concerned is consulting your call will be returned as soon as the doctor is free.
Emergency situations of course are no exception, and if you feel you have a serious problem that requires immediate attention, please do not hesitate to call. One of the staff will speak with the doctor or the ambulance service if necessary.
Practice Ethical Code
This practice is committed to providing comprehensive General Practice care to all individuals and families in this community. All patient consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential. We are accredited with AGPAL.
