United Smiles is conveniently located in the heart of Mernda Village with ample parking available at the rear of the building. Wheel chair access is also available from the front of the building and all of our surgeries have been built to accommodate this.

Technology

Digital intra-oral x-rays.
All x-rays taken at United Smiles are taken in digital format. This is a much simpler way of taking x-rays as it eliminates the need of chemicals and x-ray films. Having the x-rays in digital format also reduces the amount of radiation exposure to the patient by up to one third. X-rays are viewed on the computer and are easily transferrable between dentists and patients.

Digital OPG.

Our OPG x-rays are also in a digital format, using the most innovative digital OPG machine. With the latest software applications, one x-ray image allows the dentist to investigate many different aspects of patient's oral health including wisdom teeth placement. All of our OPG x-rays are bulk-billed with Medicare, meaning that there is no charge to the patients.

Intra-oral camera.

Our intra-oral camera allows patient and dentist to view patient's dental needs before, during and after treatment. This helps patients to understand what is happening during treatment and why they need certain treatments completed.

Digital photography.

Digital photography is used to help display the results of certain treatments including bleaching and veneers. Sometimes it is simpler for patients to see the results next to an earlier photo to really highlight the difference.

General equipment.
All equipment and materials used in our practice are chosen specifically because we believe they are the best products available. Every product will be chosen to suit patients' specific needs and wants. All of our equipment is modern and maintained to the highest standards to ensure a smooth running appointment for all.

Sterilisation.

Patients' health is our highest priority and therefore, our surgery meets and exceeds all the government standards, including sterilisation of all instruments and handpieces by autoclave. We maintain a clean and hygienic practice and pride ourselves on our infection control standards.

Laser dentistry.

Laser dentistry is one of the most significant advances in dentistry. At United Smiles, we use the AMD Picassa Laser Kit. The dental laser can be used for the treatment of gum disorders, tooth whitening, decay removal and for surgical procedures. The use of the laser can speed up the healing time and reduce swelling after a procedure.
