Profile Summary
Palliative Care South East provides palliative care in the south east metropolitan region of Melbourne. We support people with a life-limiting illness to live well and, in doing so, provide support at home to improve the quality of life of individuals, carers and families.

Our specialist palliative care services are provided to people of all ages, free of charge, in the Local Government areas of Cardinia, Casey, Greater Dandenong and part of Kingston.

Our service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can contact us to discuss any concerns you may have at any time.

People can be referred to us by treating doctors, local hospitals, treating specialists, allied health professionals, by self or by family members and friends.

Our story began in 1984, when families in the Dandenong area wanted better care for people with a life-limiting illness. They believed that life should be defined in terms of quality. Prior to 1984, no community palliative care services were available and our organisation was funded in the initial years with support from local businesses, churches and the local community. We remain grateful to our community supporters who donate to improve our service delivery capabilities.

Whilst our name has changed over time, the vision of our founders has been realised and will continue to change as our community changes, through expansion of our services into the future. We have a truly interdisciplinary team of health professionals and volunteers who provide care and support to people with a life-limiting illness and their families and friends.
