Shire Sports Physiotherapy was established in 2000. Shire Sports Physiotherapy is committed to providing quality assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. Our experienced physiotherapy team treat a wide variety of muscle and joint injuries with a goal to achieve fast results with the aim of returning to a healthy lifestyle.

To assist our clientele achieve a natural healthy lifestyle we offer a range of services including physiotherapy, massage and exercise physiology.

We have Exercise Physiologists who offer rehabilitation programs. Our friendly Instructors will work with you to personalise a program to reach your individual goals. Exercise classes can assist with rehabilitation/prevention of injuries as well as improving strength, tone and posture.
Our collective services are committed to providing a proactive hands-on approach. We strongly believe in results based care and are committed to individualised treatment.

GREG AUNGLE, Physiotherapist
Greg is the Principal Physiotherapist of Shire Sports Physiotherapy and has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) from The University of Sydney. Greg is a Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Physiotherapy Business Australia and Sports Physiotherapy Group.

Greg has extensive experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries, including game day physiotherapy from recreational to elite level including:
Head Physiotherapist to the NRL Cronulla Sharks RLFC (2014)
Cronulla Rugby League Club (Juniors and 1st Division 2001-2006)
Newtown Jets Rugby League Club (2005)
St George Rugby League Club (1997-1999)
Canterbury Rugby League Club (1994-1997)
De La Salle Rugby League Football Club (1998 to 2020).

Greg also has an affiliation with Aquadot Swim Club and provides Musculoskeletal Screening Assessments for Swimmers. Greg has treated a number of swimmers who have competed at Commonwealth and Olympic Games level.

Greg has a keen interest in the treatment of injuries through dry needling and the relationship between neck pain and headaches.

Greg has over 20 years in private practice.

Outside of Physiotherapy Greg enjoys cycling and has previously played squash at State and National level.
Kevin Xi, Physiotherapist
Kevin is a graduate of the Australian Catholic University in North Sydney, completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Kevin's passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy is motivated by his background of tennis and karate. Through this background, Kevin loves meeting and engaging with new people in their rehabilitation and management. Kevin's passion for physiotherapy at Shire Sports Physiotherapy is further inspired as he enjoys supporting and motivating people to improve their overall quality of life.

Kevin incorporates best available evidence in his hands on and exercise-based treatment that is taliored to meet your individual needs and achieve goals for return to optimal health. Additionally, he is accredited to perform Dry Needling through GEMt course.

.Alexandra Kookarkin, Exercise Physiologist

Alexandra Kookarkin is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA). Alex has degrees in Exercise Science and Commerce from the University of Wollongong. Alex also has a Masters degree in Human Nutrition from Deakin University, Cert III and IV in Fitness and is an APMA Level 3 Pilates instructor. Alex joined Shire Sports Physiotherapy in 2011.

Alex has a passion for health and fitness; enjoys motivating, having fun and training her clients. Alex's style of training is not to punish, but teach her clients to enjoy exercise and make it a part of their life. Alex has been a competitive A grade tennis player and swimmer, and completed the Gold Coast Marathon in 2015.
