Our Inspiration
Hannah's House finds its inspiration in the remarkable life of Hannah Watson, born in 1991 and lovingly remembered after her passing in 2010. Hannah faced the challenges of Opitz Trigonocephaly, a rare syndrome, which brought profound intellectual and physical difficulties alongside complex medical conditions. Her daily life involved challenges in swallowing, mobility, communication, and emotional expression, necessitating round-the-clock nursing care.
During a visit to Francis House in the UK in 1996, the Watson family experienced an extraordinary transformation. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with the compassionate care provided to children like Hannah, inspired Hannah's parents Jacky Vigurs and Martin Watson to create a care service with a similar spirit of hope and support. Today, this spirit thrives in Hannah's House's in-home support services, designed to be a beacon of compassion and care for families facing similar challenges.
