We opened our doors in 2017 as WA's first ever multi-disciplinary outpatient eating disorder centre. We have expanded to two locations, our metropolitan clinic in Claremont and our regional clinic in Busselton.
The Swan Centre home to a team of dedicated clinicians who are specifically trained to provide support to those experiencing difficulties related to eating, weight, dieting and body image. We work closely within our team at Swan, as well as with other external psychiatrists, GPs, dietitians and other mental health professionals in order to accommodate an integrated multi-disciplinary approach to treatment.
We are committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients using treatment approaches based on evidence from scientific research. We are well-known for providing Family Based Treatment (FBT, formerly known as “the Maudsley Methodâ€) for children and adolescents with eating disorders and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for adults and older adolescents with eating disorders. The team at the Swan Centre have a strong focus on research in order to improve the understanding and treatment of eating disorders. Our team have had their research published in international peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, as well as presenting at many national and international conferences.

The Swan Centre is an outpatient clinic providing up-to-date individual, family and group-based therapy. We provide holistic and collaborative care for those experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns. We understand the complexities and comorbidities that can be intertwined, and provide trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and inclusive care. The Swan Centre is an inclusive space that provides treatment and care to those who need it. We work with clients from our Perth and Busselton locations in a therapy environment which is safe and supportive.
The Swan Centre also offers telehealth across our services for those located in remote and regional communities.
All of our clinicians are highly trained and experienced in eating disorder therapies, as well as other mental health complexities, including PTSD and Complex Trauma.
We also provide support and education for parents, families, partners and caregivers, health professionals, schools and the broader community.
