Profile Summary
We offer state-of-the-art treatment using the Lumenis (Intense Pulsed Light) devices for dry eyes, ocular rosacea and collagen deficiency. The Lumenis IPLs are the only FDA & TGA approved treatment available worldwide, which are scientifically proven to be the most effective treatment for Dry Eye Disease.
Over the past 28 years we have noticed a significant increase in the number of patients suffering with the disease. Although many home remedies and suggestions can be found on the internet, no treatment works better than the IPL machine. In fact, eye drops for dry eyes can damage your eyes. Treatment should never be delayed as symptoms will always get worse. It is always recommended to seek professional advice before commencing any treatment.
The IPL treatment for dry eyes was discovered by Ophthalmologist Dr Rolando Toyos, Medical Director and Founder of Toyos Clinic in Memphis, USA in 2003. Having originally been designed for dermatological issues, the IPL device has since been proven as the most effective treatment for Dry Eye Syndrome using the Dr. Toyos method.
As well as dry eye, the IPL machine has the ability to treat rosacea, ocular rosacea, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, blepharitis, telangiectasia, demodex as well as collagen deficiency.
While the treatment is relatively new to Australia, it is FDA-approved in the US and TGA-listed in Australia.
As numbers of those suffering with dry eye have increased, so too has the need for suitably located clinics. At present, many patients from the Central Coast need to travel to Sydney for dry eye treatment. For many, this is not a viable option and symptoms go left untreated. As of February 2022, all residents of the Central Coast have access to IPL treatments conveniently located in Erina. Dry Eye Solution Chatswood opened in October 2022.
