Profile Summary
The Nurture Team, a Neurodivergent-led practice, is supportive, tight knit and passionate about helping children flourish and grow, to give them a better shot at learning and build strong relationships to lead a fuller life. The Nurture team presume competence, respect sensory differences and body autonomy of children. Nurture aims to implement practices that are respectful, culturally competent, trauma-sensitive and empathetic.

Neurodiversity affirming approaches are at the core of what we do. We are always learning more about the neurodiversity movement and changing the way we work to align better with neurodiversity affirming practices and be a strong ally for neurodivergents. We do not use/engage in compliance training in therapy as it has been reported by the autistic community that it is trauma-inducing (often leading to PTSD). We adopt strength-based approaches and reporting (avoiding ableist language use), and work on neurodiversity affirming goals (such as self-advocacy).
