Work Culture
Why work with us
Whether you're directly supporting individuals and their families or based at one of our offices, we can support you in a range of different ways.
Education and training
Identitywa has a strong focus on the professional development of staff. As a new employee, you will receive a two and half-day induction to help you begin work with confidence.
For support workers, there are plenty of opportunities to develop and refresh skills with regular training programs in first aid, manual handling, medication and managing complex needs. There are also opportunities for staff training in areas that meet the specific needs of the people we support.
We also work in partnership with registered training organisations, to assist staff to gain tertiary qualifications in disability.
Salary packaging
As an employee in a not-for-profit organisation, you will enjoy generous salary packaging benefits. This allows permanent staff to receive up to $16,000 of their salary tax-free each year, increasing your take-home pay.
Employee Assistance Program
Identitywa's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) ensures all contracted Identitywa employees and their immediate family members have access to free, confidential counselling. Our EAP can be used to address work or personal issues impacting on your health and wellbeing.
Employee Award Program
We believe it's important to acknowledge outstanding contributions. Each year, we host our Employee Award Program which is our way of honouring staff members who go above and beyond to achieve excellent outcomes. Families and staff are invited to nominate a worker who they believe makes a significant difference to the quality of the lives of the individuals and the families Identitywa supports.
Winners are awarded at our Annual Review Night which also includes recognising staff who have made a long-term contribution to Identitywa.
Family friendly workplace
Identitywa offers flexible working arrangements and family-friendly working hours to help you maintain a good balance between your work and family life.
Staff Feedback
Opportunities to provide feedback are also made available to staff through surveys, focus groups and the staff intranet.
Our Values
Above all else, we make a commitment to act. We will look for the opportunities rather than seeing the barriers.
Our approach will be objective, transparent and fair.
We will always be honest and open and no matter how challenging, we will endeavor to see it through to the end.
