BillyLids began in 2021, when Rosanna, a local Occupational Therapist, wanted to build a high quality therapy service that was both individualised to a child's support needs as well as cohesive with services a child was already accessing. As demand for this service grew, the need for a physical clinic space became apparent. Rachelle, who has a background in nursing and midwifery, in addition to a Masters of Speech Language Pathology, joined the team in 2022. As mums and health professionals themselves, Rachelle and Rosanna really understood the pressures that families experience while trying to navigate services for their kids, and the need for high quality services provided by caring and experienced clinicians. They imagined a supportive space for families and clinicians to grow their skills and confidence alongside each other, to help children to achieve their goals.

BillyLids Therapy offers services for children aged 0-10 years of age, who have a diagnosed disability (or are exploring a potential diagnosis) and children with developmental delays. We pride ourselves on our multidisciplinary approach, where children can access Speech Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy in the one familiar environment. The benefit of this model of care is that a child's therapy team are all in regular communication with each other, value communication with a child's larger team (such as their school or specialist treating team) and are able to coordinate and prioritise therapy goals. This streamlined approach reduces the amount of coordination that families must complete. We value a playful and caring approach to therapy that appreciates each child for the individual that they are.
