Fit Effects was founded by Occupational Therapist, Melissa La Manna who wanted to combine allied health and fitness into one, to approach therapy interventions in a more fun and active way.

Melissa has been working as an Occupational Therapist for over 10 years. She has worked in numerous areas including mental health, paediatrics, injury management, stroke rehabilitation and aged care rehabilitation. Working as an Occupational Therapist and case manager, Melissa has expertise skills in home modifications, equipment prescription, SIL and SDA, mental health, wheelchair prescription, pressure care, ergonomics and manual handling.

Melissa is APHRA registered and is committed to ongoing professional development.

Melissa is also a certified personal trainer and fitness coach and uses the skills developed from this certification, to incorporate it into her clients to ensure best treatment and intervention outcomes are achieved.

Aside from her work career, Melissa is a mum of two young children, and also fulfils the roles of a full time mum. Melissa enjoys going to the gym and has a love of sports, particularly soccer, which she now watches that passion through her eldest son. Melissa is the manger of her sons soccer team, and enjoys getting involved with the local soccer association.
