IPN is the premium operator of medical centres in Australia and offers professional healthcare consultations to over 10 million Australians each year.
We manage over 220 modern, multidisciplinary medical centres throughout Australia. Each of our centres offer a service that is based on a commitment to our patients and a belief in trust and honesty.
IPN is the trusted business partner of more than 1,800 independent General Practitioners who practice from within IPN Medical Centres across Australia, with complete clinical sovereignty. We provide a professional service to our Doctors and their patients, driven by a respect for quality medicine.
IPN employs over 3,000 healthcare professionals who work as Nurses, Practice Managers, Customer Service Staff, Corporate Staff and Managers. Our expert team ensures that IPN is always ‘Supporting Better Medicine’ in everything we do.
What does IPN do?
IPN's core business is General Practice management services. We support better medicine by running quality medical centres for independent General Practitioners. In running our centres, we deliver the following services:
- IPN works in partnership with Doctors to provide ethical, accessible community based healthcare services. We guarantee GP's clinical independence and aim to facilitate the best possible health outcomes for patients.
Operations and Practice Management
IPN takes care of every aspect of Medical Centre operations for partner doctors, from the day-to-day processes that ensure service quality and efficiency, to the overarching polices that underpin best practice procedures across the IPN network.
Our highly experienced Operations Team manage individual Centre operations. IPN partner Doctors benefit from local, personalised service whilst also receiving the wider support of IPN's national network.
IT Infrastructure & Support
IPN provides General Practitioners with state-of-the-art Information Technology infrastructure that delivers best practice standards. Our services include hardware provision, personalised support from dedicated IT professionals and secure practice and clinical management software.
Finance & Accounting Services
IPN manages all financial and accounting aspects of running a medical centre for our partner GP's. Private practice is as much a business endeavour as it is a clinical endeavour, so IPN takes responsibility for managing the commercial burdens of cash flow, inventory, debtors and capital investment.
We coordinate all financial and accounting requirements, including business analysis and investment modelling to payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable, banking, budgeting and reporting.
Human Resource Management
IPN manages all Medical Centre HR functions including staff recruitment, performance appraisals, payroll, OH&S requirement, training and development initiatives.
Quality & Risk Management
IPN removes the burden of personal risk associated with running a medical practice from partner GP's, while upholding Doctors clinical independence. In taking on that risk, IPN has built a system of quality controls to minimise the financial risk and legal liability involved in running a medical centre. This includes allocation of significant resources aimed at ensuring the health and safety of IPN people in the workplace.
IPN collaborates with key regulatory bodies to ensure the implementation of quality standards and risk minimisation strategies, and has standard operating procedures and national network policies which help drive consistent, quality services for GP's and their patients.
Property Management
IPN manages all property, leasing and sub-tenancy arrangements for each medical practice in our network, including all maintenance, repairs and periodical site refurbishments. A large portion of the IPN Health Centres are multidisciplinary, which means they provide a variety of on-site health services such as Pharmacy, Pathology collection, Physiotherapy, Skin Clinics and other Allied Health Providers.
Business Development Support
At IPN, we recognise the professional individuality of each GP and understand that our Medical Centres whilst part of the larger IPN network, occupy a unique position in their local community and cater to differing patient needs. Our Medical Centres are supported with local area marketing initiatives in addition to national health promotion campaigns.
