Volunteers form the backbone of our organization and an integral part of our history, going back to when Community Aid Abroad was founded by Father Gerard Kennedy Tucker in 1953. Thanks to the efforts, passion and dedication of 3,300 volunteers and interns, more than 74,000 hours were contributed in 2019. That's more than 8.5 years of work — in just one year!
You can volunteer in a range of areas including customer service, research, editing, events, finance and human resources… just to name a few! Our event volunteers make up the majority of volunteer numbers, with thousands volunteering for Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.
