The health service provides health care to the Central Queensland catchment area of approximately 235,000 people, with an estimated growth rate of 1.6% to 2036, and more than 3,400 dedicated staff delivering quality health care. The primary hospitals within the health service are Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald, and Biloela together with many smaller rural units transferring patients through to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigation.
