Profile Summary
Practice established 1985
The Flinders Peak Medical Centre began as a single doctor practice in 1985.
The practice was established by Mrs Davida Shera and the late Dr Michael Shera and was originally called the Purga Medical Centre. Dr Shera worked tirelessly as the Practice Principal from 1985 until his unexpected passing in June 2020.

The surgery is committed to evidence-based medicine. We were one of the first surgeries in Australia to be accredited and we are currently accredited with Quality Practice Accreditation.

Location
The Flinders Peak Medical Centre takes its name from Mount Flinders, the highest mountain peak in the Teviot Range of South East Queensland. Mount Flinders is the most striking feature of the local landscape and its base is just over 11 kms drive from the surgery.
