The Australian Society of Orthodontists is the peak body for orthodontics in Australia, and is an organisation committed to maintaining high ethical and professional standards amongst orthodontists, to the benefit of the dental health of all Australians.
Why us
All members of the Australian Society of Orthodontists are registered specialists, so you can be confident that your ASO orthodontist is appropriately accredited through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Formed in 1927, members of the Australian Society of Orthodontists have been creating better smiles for patients of all ages for over 90 years.
In 1950, the ASO was reorganised to establish state branches and to develop an affiliation with the Australian Dental Association (ADA), allowing both bodies to work collaboratively to ensure the best patient care across the country.
Throughout its history, the ASO and it's members have been committed to providing the best orthodontic care for patients, in line with the most recent research and scientific developments in the field.
Through its Foundation for Orthodontic Research and Education supporting orthodontic research in Australian Universities, biennial Congress, and biannual scientific journal publication, the ASO continues its commitment to excellence in orthodontic treatment.
