Cardiac Skills Australia was established in 2013 by Kellie D'Orsa. Kellie is an accredited cardiac sonographer with experience performing echo in critical care settings. She is also qualified in higher education, learning and teaching and is an experienced facilitator in problem based learning.

Kellie recognised the important role cardiac sonographers could play in training physicians in echocardiography. She combined her echo and education skills to create Cardiac Skills Australia and provide medical professionals with all the experience cardiac sonographers are able to offer.

In addition to her work at Cardiac Skills Australia, Kellie is a conjunct tutor at the School of medicine Deakin University Geelong & a casual echocardiographer at Epworth Hospital Geelong, Victoria. She has also been involved in writing the exam for the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac) with the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine

Why us
Cardiac Skills Australia specialises in echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound) training for medical specialists. Our training acknowledges the growing demand for 'point of care' ultrasound and its role as a fundamental tool for diagnostic evaluation.
Our workshops use a step-by-step approach to teach the skills necessary for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound. Tuition by experienced cardiac sonographers; an emphasis on hands-on training; and small group settings (1:3 ratio), means that delegates walk away being able to confidently perform a basic echocardiography exam.
