Business / Provider Profile
We are the peak body representing the interests of Australian dental prosthetists and their patients.

Our Association's principal purpose is to advance, improve, support and foster the interests, development and status of dental prosthetists and to increase awareness and recognition of the profession across all sectors of society.

On 1 July 2016 our national and state and territory associations merged to create a single national body representing our profession. We maintain strong links with our former associations with state / territory committees working with our national board, committees and team to support local networking, advocacy and CPD efforts.

WHAT IS A DENTAL PROSTHETIST?
Dental prosthetists work as independent practitioners in the assessment, treatment, management and provision of patient-removable prostheses, including implant-retained overdentures, and flexible mouthguards for sport. Their work may including taking impressions and records for manufacturing splints, stents, sleep apnoea or anti-snoring devices and immediate dentures.
Why us
Dental prosthetists are registered nationally with the Dental Board of Australia, the same board that registers dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists, dental and oral health therapists and dental specialists. They are subject to the same registration requirements, guidelines and codes of practice as other registered members of the dental team.
