Blackmores Institute, the academic and professional arm of Blackmores Limited, was established in 2012 with a vision to improve and promote the quality use of natural medicine.

We aim to help healthcare professionals to stay up-to-date on the evidence, efficacy, safety and quality of natural medicine and its effective integration with other modalities.

Sharing knowledge, changing lives
Blackmores founder, Maurice Blackmore, opened one of Australia's first health food stores and naturopathic clinics in the 1930's, published the industry's first consumer and industry journals and established the nation's first naturopathic education facility.

In his honour, the Maurice Blackmore Research Foundation was established in 1983 with its initial communique noting the outcome of research and education should benefit the community as a whole.

Today, Blackmores Institute offers an extension of this vision by taking an evidence based approach to building knowledge about natural medicine and sharing the findings with a view to improve public health.
