The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is the not-for-profit organisation responsible for training emergency physicians and advancement of professional standards in emergency medicine in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
Established in 2012, the ACEM Foundation contributes philanthropically towards three pillars: Emergency Medicine Research, Global Emergency Care and Supporting Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and MÄori doctors undertaking emergency medicine training.

Promote excellence in the delivery of quality emergency care to all of our communities through our committed and expert members.
Role
The College's role is to:
Deliver specialist Emergency Medicine education and training for full Fellowship as well as a Certificate and Diploma in Emergency Medicine, including all relevant assessments.
Maintain professional standards in training, including accreditation of Emergency Departments for Emergency Medicine Training.
Advance professional standards in emergency medicine.
Advocacy, including providing expert guidance and advice on policy to relevant bodies on matters relating to Emergency Medicine.
Improve emergency medical education in rural and regional areas.
Engaging in proactive discussions with jurisdictions and agencies in regard to complex matters such as workforce, as well as widening the membership of its entities to ensure that the necessary breadth of stakeholder input is available to enable informed decision-making.
